The Kingdom and the King

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it’s easy to overlook the profound significance of encountering God in the stillness and solitude of our hearts. Just as exploring a home rich with memories helps us to understanding the owner of the home, the Kingdom of God is a reflection of who He is.

Yet the truth is this: knowing about God is not the same as truly knowing Him.

Just like you can admire a painting but only truly appreciate it by connecting with the artist, our relationship with God is deepened through personal encounters and revelations of His character.

As we explore the essence of the Kingdom of God, highlighting its attributes such as peace, love, righteousness, and wisdom – all stemming from the nature of the King, the reality is that we are called not just to define the kingdom but to discover the King, challenging us to seek intimacy with God beyond mere knowledge.

As we draw parallels from Isaiah’s encounter with the Lord in chapter 6, we begin to realise the humbling and transformative power of coming face to face with the Almighty. Like Isaiah, when faced with the grandeur of God’s holiness, our pride crumbles, paving the way for grace and a readiness to respond to God’s call.

The invitation to say, “Here I am, send me!” echoes through the ages, resonating with every believer called to be a sent one – an Apostle in the true sense of being sent out by God. As we capture the essence of this divine commission, God reminds us that on the other side of adversity lies divine purpose.

This not only inspires introspection but also calls for action and surrender. Just as Isaiah’s life was forever changed in God’s presence, we, too, are called to embrace the transformative power of encountering God’s revelation in our lives.

From experiencing personal challenge loss to encountering the majesty of God during times of greatest need, God’s transformational power can turn around even the hardest of seasons to usher in a new season of understanding, empowerment, and purpose.

In a world filled with distractions, stresses, and comparisons, Isaiah 6 resounds with the truth that a fresh revelation of God is the key to unlocking a life of victory and purpose. It encourages each and every one of us to seek a new vision of Jesus, to embrace humility, to receive God’s abundant grace, and to respond to His call with a resounding “Send me!”

Ultimately, as we read just the first 8 verses in Isaiah 6, it paints a vivid picture of the transformative power of encountering God’s revelation. Would we as disciples embark on a journey of spiritual discovery, to seek fresh encounters with the Almighty, and to respond to His call with a heart full of surrender and readiness to be sent out into His Kingdom?

The prayer is simply this, that our lives be a reflection of our intimate relationship with the King of Kings, because ultimately we need to be aware and understand that when we have accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour of our lives, the King is always in the room!
