Getting to know Jesus
A relationship with Jesus and the gift of eternal life is something that God freely offers to everyone.
To receive this gift is an act of faith.
In the Bible, the gospel of John says it like this:
‘God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life’
John 3:16
To receive this gift of eternal life, starts with a simple prayer that says three things to God:
Thank you
We believe that Jesus died for us on the cross and that Him dying is Him offering the free gift of forgiveness, freedom and His Spirit. Take a moment to thank Him.Sorry
Ask God to forgive you for all the things you have done wrong and turn from everything which you know is wrong in your life. This is what the Bible means by ‘repentance’.Please
God never forces His way into our lives. You need to accept His gift and invite Him to come and live within you by His Spirit.A prayer to pray
If you would like to have a relationship with God and you are ready to say these three things, then here is a simple prayer you can pray:
Lord,
I know that I have done wrong and that my sin has separated me from you, but I want to live my life your way from now on. I ask for and receive your forgiveness. Thank you Lord. I believe in Jesus- that He died for my sins and was resurrected to give us eternal life and relationship. By faith I receive your gift of freedom. I say yes to you. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Saviour and give you my heart, my thoughts, my words and my life from this day forward.
Amen.

If you have accepted Jesus as Saviour, getting baptised in water is a great next step in your faith journey!
Baptism is a vital marker on your Christian journey and one of only two rituals that Jesus commanded, the other being Communion (found in Matthew 26:26-28 and Matthew 28:19).
Following Jesus’s example and command, water baptism symbolises His own death and resurrection, the washing away of our sins, and the death of our old self and re-birth into new life.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says it like this,
‘Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!’
Jesus clearly said, ‘Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved’ (Mark 16:16), so first we ‘believe’ in Jesus as a private decision, and then get baptised to tell the whole world!
Water baptism without accepting Jesus is the wrong way around, and does not make us into a Christian. However, once a believer, baptism is a thrilling step in God’s plan for your life!
Baptism also connects us in to the ‘body of Christ’, the Church, his people here on earth. In a believer’s water baptism we join the family of God, making it much more than an individual step on our own spiritual journey. We need each other which is why the Bible says, ‘For we were all baptised by one Spirit into one body.’ (1 Corinthians 12:12-13)
If you would like to find out more about water baptism or would like to get baptised in our next baptism service, please email us at hello@c3hope.church to register your interest and one of our team will talk you through the next step and how we do Baptisms at C3 Hope.
